Brass & Wood Taper Candlestick with Scalloped Base
$25.00

This vintage candlestick combines warm-toned wood with aged brass in a tall, traditional form. A cylindrical wooden column forms the center of the piece, framed above and below by turned brass collars and supported by a broad, sculptural brass base.

The base is one of the most distinctive details, formed with a repeating scalloped or petal-shaped edge rather than a simple round foot. Above it, the brass rises into a baluster-shaped stem before meeting the wooden column. At the top, a flared brass candle cup is sized to hold a standard taper candle.

Brass-and-wood candlesticks in closely related forms were widely produced during the later twentieth century, particularly during the 1970s and 1980s, when traditional brass accessories and warm natural wood were commonly combined in decorative housewares. Surviving examples with similar wood columns, brass collars, flared candle sockets, and shaped bases are frequently identified as Indian export pieces from this period.

The combination of materials reflects a long tradition of candlestick construction in which metal provides weight and heat resistance while a wood insert adds color and texture to the shaft. Here, the contrast between the reddish-brown wood and naturally aged brass gives the piece much of its character.

Condition

Good vintage condition with visible age-related wear throughout. The brass shows natural patina, spotting, tarnish, fine scratches, and areas of finish variation consistent with previous use and age.

The wooden center column shows light surface scratches, marks, and finish wear. The candle socket also shows age-related darkening and use.

All visible wear and patina should remain represented in the product photography.

Clear Pressed Glass Ring Holder with Starburst Design

Clear Pressed Glass Ring Holder with Starburst Design
$15.00

This vintage clear pressed-glass ring holder was made as a small vanity piece, combining a tall tapered center post for rings with a shallow surrounding dish for earrings, pins, and other small jewelry.

The glass is molded with a radiating starburst pattern around the base of the central post, with additional geometric star and diamond-point motifs around the dish. A textured scalloped rim finishes the outer edge, allowing the molded pattern to catch and refract light across the surface.

Ring holders in this form were common dresser and vanity accessories during the mid-to-late twentieth century. The center cone allowed several rings to be stacked vertically while keeping smaller pieces collected in the surrounding dish.

The decoration was formed through pressed-glass production, with the pattern molded directly into the glass rather than individually cut afterward. This technique allowed manufacturers to produce highly decorative household glassware with much of the visual effect associated with cut crystal.

A small surviving piece of the vintage vanity table, made for the simple ritual of taking off your rings at the end of the day.

Condition

Good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age and previous use. The glass remains clear and the molded decoration is well defined.

"Snap Shots" Leather Photo Album Ft. Lauderdale Florida Palm Tree Cover
$14.00

A little piece of old Florida, made to hold the pictures you brought home.

This vintage “Snap Shots” souvenir photo album was made for visitors to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with a warm brown cover decorated in a colorful tropical scene of a leaning palm tree, blue water, clouds and sunset colors. “Snap Shots” is lettered across the upper corner, with “Ft. Lauderdale Fla.” painted beneath the scene.

Souvenir albums like this were sold throughout American vacation destinations during the mid-20th century. Similar examples survive from Miami, Daytona Beach, Panama City, Mount Rushmore and other tourist towns, each customized with local scenery and place names. A closely related Miami example measures 5½ × 8 inches and features a leather cover with hand-painted palm-tree artwork, while Daytona examples use the same “Snap Shots” format and black interior photo pages.

Fort Lauderdale was becoming one of Florida’s best-known vacation destinations during this era, and albums like this were intended to turn a stack of vacation snapshots into a permanent souvenir. The wear to the cover now gives the piece another layer of history, particularly the staining and surface loss at the upper-right corner.

Condition

Vintage condition with visible age and use. The cover shows surface rubbing, discoloration, edge wear, marks and notable finish loss/staining at the upper-right corner. The painted tropical artwork and lettering remain vivid and readable. These imperfections are part of the actual piece and should remain visible in the listing photographs.

Lefton Daisy Porcelain Picture Frame, No. 1375
$22.00

This vintage Lefton porcelain picture frame, model No. 1375, features a softly sculpted silhouette decorated with white daisies, green foliage, and delicate gold detailing. Ornate scrollwork along the base gives the frame an almost baroque quality, while the floral decoration keeps it light and charming.

A narrow opening allows a photograph to slide into the frame from above, making the porcelain itself both the decorative surround and the support. The reverse retains its original red-and-gold “Lefton Trade Mark Exclusives Japan” foil label as well as the printed 1375 model number.

Lefton was founded in Chicago around 1940 by George Zoltan Lefton and became especially well known in the postwar decades for importing decorative Japanese ceramics into the United States. Floral porcelain, figurines, giftware, and vanity accessories became some of the company's most recognizable pieces.

Based on the Lefton label style and the overall design, this frame is best described as mid-20th century, likely circa 1960s–1970s. The daisy-and-gold decoration is also consistent with other documented Lefton floral giftware from the period.

The piece shows the kind of gentle wear that makes vintage porcelain feel collected rather than new, particularly along portions of the gold detailing.

* Picture included! The frame holds a charming vintage souvenir photograph believed to have been taken during the 1940s at Knott’s Berry Farm’s famous Pitchur Gallery in Buena Park, California. Originally operated by photographer Gus Thornrose, the gallery invited visitors to dress in Victorian and Old West costumes and pose for nostalgic portraits. This delightful image captures a couple in elaborate period attire, preserving a little piece of California's early tourism history.

Condition

Good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. There is visible wear and loss to portions of the gold detailing, along with minor surface wear consistent with age. The original Lefton foil label and No. 1375 marking remain on the reverse. Please review all photographs closely, as they form part of the condition description.
